Robert Nazaryan, the former chairman of the RA Public Services Regulatory Commission, detained on 06.08.2020 within the framework of the criminal case investigated by the RA Special Investigation Service, as well as Shiraz Kirakosyan and Mushegh Koshetsyan, former members of the commission detained on the same day, were charged under article 308 (part 2) of the RA Criminal Code, for committing publicly dangerous acts, in particular, for based on personal and group interests in establishing privileges for a particular business entity, in 2011 they abused their official authorities, which caused severe consequences by negligence.
Nikolay Grigoryan, the former deputy chairman of the commission, was detained a day before with the suspicion of committing an act envisaged by the same article of the RA Criminal Code.
An investigator of the RA Special Investigation Service filed a petition to the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan city with the request to select taking into custody as a measure of restriction against R. Nazaryan, Sh. Kirakosyan and M. Koshetsyan.
As it has already been informed, sufficient evidence was obtained during the preliminary investigation of the criminal case, stating that that due to the actions of Robert Nazaryan and the above mentioned members of the commission tariffs exceeding double tariffs set for the same period instead of those which were set in 2012-2019 for the sale of electricity produced and delivered by “Dzoraget Hydro” LLC, as a result of which an additional especially large amount of AMD 7,052,065,099 was received from individuals and legal entities consuming electricity produced by “Dzoraget Hydro” LLC in RA.
The preliminary investigation of the criminal case is underway.
Notification: a person that is suspected or accused of an alleged crime, is considered innocent until his/her guilt is proved by a court judgement that has come into legal effect pursuant to the procedure determined by RA Criminal Procedure Code.
