In order to keep the public from unjustified estimates by Narek Samsonyan, the President of “Civil Consciousness” NGO about the process of investigation of the criminal case instituted at the RA Special Investigation Service, as well as emphasizing the right of citizens to receive impartial and full information, we deem it necessary to declare the following:
Today Narek Samsonyan was summoned to the RA Special Investigation Service to be interviewed as a witness on the criminal case instituted with article 308 (part 1) of the Criminal Code, on the basis of Facebook post stating pressure on economic entity by the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, through the RA SRC, which was implemented in strict compliance with the procedure prescribed by the RA Criminal Procedure Code.
During the interview N. Samsonyan was asked to provide complete information about the circumstances mentioned in his post, including the source of the information, mentioning restaurant details, providing other details.
Unreasonably basing that it was a matter for the law enforcement to disclose, N. Samsonyan refused to answer the questions, which was recorded in the protocol of interrogation.
Later, Samsonyan made political statements that had nothing common with the criminal case. The investigator, having no procedural obligation to record the political statements in the protocol, did not include them therein, which Narek Samsonyan made the subject of groundless speculation by distorting reality.
By making political statements that were irrelevant to the circumstances of the criminal case and the questions of the investigator N. Samsonyan simply avoided answering the questions addressed to him, in other words, he avoided fulfilling the witness's procedural duties.
