EIC Senior Investigator charged with receiving a bribe of large amount is detained

By the criminal case examined in RA Special Investigation Service, RA Investigation Committee Regional Subdivision Senior Investigator of Especially Important Cases Armen S. has been charged pursuant to point 3, part 3, Article 311 for the fact that in the end of April 2014 he, occupying the post of RA Police former GID Regional Investigation Division EIC Senior Investigator, while carrying out preliminary investigation by the criminal case in his proceedings, on April 22, 2014 demanded a bribe of large amount – 2 thousand US dollars equivalent to 826 thousand RA drams from Samvel M. and Meruzhan P. - the parents of the suspects Karapet M. and Robert M. through their friend’s father Petros S. to carry out actions in favour thereof within the scope of his powers, i. e. not to detain them but choose recognizance not to leave as a measure of restraint towards them, and part of which he managed to receive therefrom.
By the criminal case examined in RA Special Investigation Service pursuant to part 2, Article 38-312 of RA Criminal Code citizen Petros S. has also been charged for the fact that he induced the citizens Samvel M. and Meruzhan P. to give a bribe of large amount – 2 thousand US dollars to an official - the EIC Senior Investigator Armen S.
Detention has been chosen as a measure of restraint towards RA Investigation Committee Regional Subdivision Senior Investigator of Especially Important Cases Armen S. and citizen Petros S.
Preliminary investigation is in progress.
