In the course of the preliminary investigation of the criminal case reviewed in the Special Investigation Service, a citizen Gagik A. was arrested on suspicion of committing fraud in an especially large amount. The preliminary investigation revealed that on February 2015 Gagik A., by reaching a preliminary agreement with the prisoner of “Vardashen” Criminal-Executive Institution of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia Hovik B. by introducing himself as a deputy general prosecutor, supporting the attorney of the Chamber of Advocates of the Republic of Armenia, appointing him to the post in the prosecutor’s office, as well as giving false promises with regard to creating other employment-related perspectives in the future, with a pretext of borrowing money for the furnishing of the prosecutor’s apartment, by fraud stole a large amount of money in the sum of 15 thousand USD and a mobile phone costing 130 thousand Armenian drams. In view of the need to ensure comprehensive, complete and objective examination conditioned by factual circumstances, the criminal case launched in accordance with Paragraph 1 Part 3 of Article 178 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia was sent to the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia which instituted proceeding against it.
A preliminary Investigation is underway.
