Criminal Case on Use of Violence Accompanied by Hooliganism in Which a Police Officer Was Involved Accepted into Proceeding

The Special Investigation Service has accepted into proceeding the criminal case initiated according to the RA Criminal Code, Article 258, part 2, with respect to violence accompanied with hooliganismcommitted against a police officerby citizen Aram Yeghiazaryan.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that on September 1, 2013at around 23:30, at the entrance of the “National” café in Tsaghkadzor, Aram Yeghiazaryan, resident of the city of Hrazdan, beat worker of the café V.D. during a quarrel,inflicting corporal injuries upon the latter.
An hour or two later on the same day, while driving down a nearby street in his personal car, A.Ye.noticed one of the people gathered at the café give him a hand signal to stop and he stopped to get out of the car. After Aram Yeghiazaryan got out, officer of Kotayk regional department of the RA Police S.S. approached him and started a quarrel about the fact that Aram Yeghiazaryan had beaten V.D. Thus, Aram Yeghiazaryan and S.S.grossly violated public order on purpose, which manifested itself in an obvious disrespect for society. Namely, they kept on using foul language, fighting and hitting each other for about 5-10 minutes, during which Aram Yeghiazaryan intentionally stabbed S.S.’s relatives Hrant and VardanSedoyans, who had approached him, with a knife that he kept in his car, thus inflicting corporal injuries on them.
Signature for not leaving has been chosen as a precautionary measure against Aram Yeghiazaryan, who has been charged according to the RA Criminal Code, Article 118 and Article 258, part 2.
Preliminary investigation continues.
