Aram Barseghyan was arrested with suspicion of assisting theft of property in large and especially large amount by means of misappropriation, within criminal case investigated in the RA Special Investigation Service.
The latter is suspected of commitment of offences provided under article 38-179 (part 2, poit 2) (2 epoxides) of the RA Criminal Code, and article 38-179 (part 3, point 1) of the RA Criminal Code, particularly, for while holding the position of the driver of Armen Ashotyan, the RA Minister of Education and Science and then the position of his assistant, using his official position and influence and relations resulted therefrom, in 2009-2016 illegally executed himself as a watcher and a worker in the “Yerevan state Armenian-Greek college of tourism, service and food industry” SNCO; in 2011-2016 as a driver in the “Kotayk Regional State College” SNCO of the RA Ministry of Education and Science; and in March 2016, after resignation of A. Ashotyan, and with the motion of the latter he was registered as a driver in the “Armenian State University of Economics” SNCO, in 2016-2017.
Being registered in the above mentioned positions during 2009-2017 A. Barseghyan had never attended the workplace, and went on performing the duties of the assistant and the driver of A. Ashotyan, received 8.734.118 AMD in total, thus assisting misappropriation of large and especially large amounts by the heads of the mentioned SNCO-s distributed from the RA State budget.
The preliminary investigation is underway. Measures are taken to ascertain the full scope of the persons involved in the commitment of the offences.
